Spent a night here and met up with family members also staying here prior to attending a wedding last weekend. What a lovely place to stay and although it's in the middle of nowhere, there were always lots of people sitting outside enjoying the sunshine. Thanks to all the staff who looked after us. Well worth a visit!

This is a great place for a meal or a drink. Cosy inside, with small rooms and dining tables or sofas and coffee tables in the bar areas, or outside in an attractive garden. Great sunset views from the restaurant.

Christmas day Lunch We had a wonderful meal and the service was excellent. The food excelled our expectations , every course was stunning in presentation and taste. We could not have asked for anything more. Thank you to all the staff that worked so hard and were so jolly you really made our Christmas day meal very special

Had Sunday lunch today.
Staff, cleanliness and service were good.
One big negative was that the roast beef served was chewy and rare, very pink and off putting.
If it's to be served like this, it should be made aware.

It's such a beautiful pub in the most fantastic setting.

We came here for Sunday roast and were not disappointed. The staff were top notch and our dinner was delish! It was a toss up which was better, pork vs beef. They were both great.

Two very enjoyable nights here in a lovely location on the common. A very interesting old building and well kept. Rooms basic but had all facilities we required and were very clean. Food excellent but portions far too large for us. Staff were very attentive and made us feel welcome.

I only live a few minutes away from The Old Lodge and so it is my go to for a relaxing few hours with good food and good company. However, in this instance, I was the photographer for a beautiful little wedding there and had to leave a review to say how wonderful it was to experience a wedding there. The staff were as lovely and organised as ever, the food was absolutely wonderful and the surroundings really made it such a special day. The decor inside looked gorgeous and the pub gardens were as beautiful as ever with golden hour really illuminating the view from the venue. The ceremony was outside under the pagoda as lukcily we had some beautfiful weather and it looked superb. I went into the rooms for the first time to photograph some bridal prep and was delighted at how gorgeous and cosy they were. The main bridal suite had a gorgeous four poster bed and amazing views over the common. I really hope to be photographing lots more weddings here in the future as it really was a lovely venue to work at.

Booked Sunday lunch for a birthday celebration with family and friends. Stunning location,fantastic food and cheerful attentive staff made it a tremendous choice.Would highly recommend.
